R & R?

Isn't this beautimous? I have been trying to get some R & R here....and it really has been nice. Amazing how much there is in the world when you don't open your eyes wide enough to see. There is so much to tell you!!!!!! Let's start at the beginning.....duddi do duddi do duddi do (the squiggly things on Wayne's World when they are thinking back)

I catch my flight...at 7 AM - I am not a morning person by the way. So this means that I have to get up really early. I got up at 4:45 am, and I didn't get any sleep that night either. It was rough...brutal you might even say. The price you pay for some good old fashion pampering. The flight to Atlanta was good....no heart attack brought on by turbulence or creepy people sitting next to me. The flight from Atlanta to Phoenix however....not so good to me. Just to get this out there...I have a weak stomach. I can't clean up my dogs vomit without gagging the entire time....or even day old refried beans that have been soaking in a pot in the sink.....I gag in that instance as well. So I am nestling in to my seat...I might have been sitting there for 30 minutes (it's a 4 hour flight), they hadn't even handed out the headsets or refreshments yet. All of a sudden I hear what sounds like....what I can only describe as a can of Campbell's Vegetable Soup...being poured from high up and splattering everwhere....but with more gurgles...and then I hear....OH SHIT! YOU'RE SICK!!! Never what you want to hear on a flight...especially when you still have 3 and half hours left...sitting there in the filth of someone else whom you don't even know. Ugh! It's all I could think about. And then I would find myself trying to see if I could smell anything!!! WHO DOES THAT? Seriously, that is messed up, b/c I know I didn't want to smell anything....I just wanted to be sure that there wasn't anything to smell. It was a child by the way....the airplane vomit person...a child...little boy...about 8 or 9. After this incident happened, his mom made him go to the bathroom to clean up...so he is working is way out of his chair, guiding his way by placing his hand on the seats in front of him - where I am. When all of a sudden, I feel this small, vomit encrusted hand, flat on my head.....DID HE REALLY JUST PUT HIS HAND ON MY HEAD???? Yes...he did. It was a sad moment for me. I couldn't get it out of my mind....I mean, you and I, and everyone else on the plane knew where his hands had been. There is no way that I heard what I heard and his hands were vomit free. No way. Not possible. So...I thought a couple of mean thoughts in my head...and then paid for my headphones and watched a movie....and I had forgotten about it until I heard...AWWW LOOOK! MY THROW UP IS ON THE BACKPACK MOM!!!!!!!!!!! eeeeeeeeeeeeeek! It's also...in...my....HAIR!!!!!!!

After the movie, I learned that there was trivia on the plane...I LOVE trivia! And this was fun trivia...you played with other people on the flight, and it had our seat numbers listed and everything. I was worried at first b/c, I mean, what if I sucked? I don't want people thinking....man, that girl in 40E is a tard! BUT, you should like to know that yours truly finished FIRST! That's right...and it wasn't just entertainment and stuff. It was History, Entertainment, Geography, Art, Literature.....and so on. I was really pumped about this win..."Ben" was giving me a run for my money....but I turned on the heat and blew him away! So, afterwards, they flash the all time high scores on the screen.....and I am number TWO....the number two all time high score holder??? ME??? That rocks!

So, I pull up to the resort...I am wearing a long white shirt..with a hole in it, and green sweats, tennis shoes that don't match...AT ALL and a sweatshirt wrapped around my waist. There are men walking around in suits and stuff! haha! I did not pack for the type of place this was...but you know what? I didn't come here to prance around in fancy clothes...I came here to friggin relax...and I relax in my sweats, my holey shirt, and my tennis shoes....and the trusty sweatshirt. I checked in and slept most of the day....amazing what flying does to you.

Yesterday, I rose early and went to the Concierge to get some advice on some art galleries! That's really what I was looking forward to most. The lady handed me this map that had an Art Gallery District on it!!! The only thing I wish I would have done differently is wear my flip flops. I wore my heels. I told myself to wear the flip flops...but the heels were staring at me...winking at me...telling me that I really wanted to wear them and that it would be ok. I caved. I wore them....with a smile. I walked around for 2 hours...in and out of little art galleries...and I kid you not...I had the time of my life! It was soooo much fun! I know there are few people who would enjoy that, but I'm one of them....and I am glad I am. It's nice to see beauty in creativity. I found an art gallery that I loooooved! Check out the website! It's www.lekaegallery.com and it's got the most amazing paintings, sculptures, glass works....ceramics....you name it. And it's beautiful pieces! So, after I ripped myself away from this store...I started trucking it around to try and find a place to eat. As I walked past this gallery...I heard "Youa wanna seea mya gallery, eh?" and it was this cute little man...I had to go see his gallery, I couldn't say noooooooo. So, I did that...he creeped me out a little but not too much.

The weather was about 73 degrees and the sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. It was truly a beautiful day to eat lunch on an outside patio.!!! So I walked up to Mallee's on Main which is a Thai Restaurant. The cute little host-which would have rather been called a hostess took me outside to my patio table....It was just lovely. So I am sitting there....enjoying the scenery....the 73 degree weather when all of a sudden a group of ladies come outside b/c it's too cold inside. I hear one of them say, "Can you turn that on please?" The waitress replies, "Sure, no problem". I kind of glance over my shoulder....out of curiousity. And I see the world's largest outside heater...and then I hear the waitress turning it on...click click click click....wooooooshhhhhhhh....and then I see the metal turn a bright amber....getting hotter every millisecond. I started to make bets with myself on how long I would be able to take it....and then it felt like someone had lit my sweater on FIRE....it was buuuuuurning!!!! People! It was 73 degrees outside!!!!!!!!! I wanted to reach back and smack one of them....I know that's wrong, but I felt it....and I couldn't help it. They ruined my patio lunch....so I moved inside. And I could still hear them cackling...and it aggravated me...b/c they were having such a good time....I'm beginning to feel that maybe...I might be a little selfish.

I wish I would have brought my camera....I left it in the car on accident. Words can't possible do justice to what beautiful things I saw! The sky was soooooooooo blue! I would go and just sit by the pool during the day and just soak it up. Not a cloud in sight, and the sky was a shade of blue that I have never even seen before....and in contrast there was this tall tree that was soooo green and it was set against the sky......I could have just sat and stared at it all day.

LSU fans.....Yikes! What a let down Death Valley is when you see the ASU stadium....It's literally built in the middle of mountains....I think it's built into the mountains. It was so pretty!!!! And I know, I know....I thought there would be nothing but tumbleweeds here too.....and an old guy walking out of a saloon, with that song that plays in the background of an old fashioned stare down.....But, it was nothing like that. At all. They had grass!!! Rye grass I think, but it's grass, and it's green. And in this one part of town I was in.....I'm wishing I would have counted now...but it seems as though there was either a sex store or a tattoo shop on every corner...atleast every other corner!!!! Baton Rouge has a few tattoo shops....and I think only one sex shop.....funny!

okkkkkkk....these are the highlights, sorry it's sooooooo long! I'm sure I'll think of some more interesting things to write.....and I'll be sure to let you know! Loveses all of youssssssss
