I'm not sure if ya'll know but I embarked 7 months ago on a downward journey in my career to see just how low I could go.
Ok. Maybe not THAT bad....but in a sense, I did go from a branch manager at a financial institution to a secretary at an accounting firm.
There are all different types of secretary's.......and they are hard working and I appreciate them....but my particular job consists of mindless tasks all day that make me go crazy. Seriously. At one point during the day, I picked up the phone, and actually dialed my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!?!?!??!?!?!? 3 shades of crazy.........
I spent 4 hours today in front of a copier....pushing the same button....then gathering my precious paper.....and stacking it in ways that...was actually just ridiculous. I then spent an hour and a half in front of an electric hole puncher, where I continuously pressed the one and only button on the thing about 75 different times. Oh, and you know that sound that an electric chainsaw makes as its cutting through wood? Bonus! My little hole puncher makes the same sound! I love the little "perks" of my daily tasks. I even get to come home with little shards of paper in my hair and on my clothes. That way, they know I've been working super duper hard! ;)
At the end of the day, I was given a top secret, one of a kind, very VERY important task....that someone of only my intellect would be able to handle. I felt like I had just won the important job lottery!!!!!!!!!!!
I was handed some papers, that were paper clipped....the top sheet was a letter that was on very nice stationary. (that's how you can tell it's really important). I was then given SPECIFIC instructions to google the Company's (that was on the letterhead) PHYSICAL address, because the P.O. box just wasn't enough. Duh! ****mind you this is a very big office.....it took a lot for this person to come find me to do this task***yes, I'm THAT important....I mean, you do a good job, you just get to take over the good stuff like this***
