I really do........I'm gonna miss you pal.

For those of you who know me, you know that I have been really shaken up by this whole Pluto thing. And for those of you who NEVER watch the news, let me clue you in on what's going on in our world.

Scientists have decided to give Pluto the old heave ho. That's right. Pluto is no longer what we have always known it to be. Pluto has been known as planet since 1930! So, for 76 years we have been learning in our schools that Pluto is what? That's right, the 9th planet, the smallest planet. I guarantee that no one missed this question on a test. And if they did, I bet they are pissed now b/c they were right all along. Think about the kid who failed the exit exam and had to retake a grade b/c they answered that question wrong? Yikes, haha, that really does suck. Anyway, back to how I feel about it. Can you really just demote a planet? And if so, what does that say about all the other things we learn and rely on their truths. I for one, thought that everything I ever learned was based on fact. Can it be any other way? How can we expect our kids or even ourselves to have faith in what we have learned? Well, I feel very strongly about this. And I feel like Pluto got the shaft. He was the most loved Planet. And now, his name isn't even Pluto. It's 134340.

Back to the story. I went into the Discovery store at the mall today. And when I checked out, the cashier gave me this pin (above). And yes, I wore it out the store, through the hustle bustle of Macy's, New York and Company, out to the car, to the gas station and now I am sitting in my house with my "I LOVE PLUTO" button proudly on my pants.

I asked him if I could have an extra one, and the said yes, so I have one for anyone who would like it.
